Accord Literary Accra Workshop

As many of our countries continue in various levels of lockdown against COVID 19, our thoughts are with all our friends around the world. In reminiscing some of the good times spent among writer friends, we share the memory below with you.

In 2019, it was such a great pleasure to partner with IBBY Ghana, British Council, Ghana Publishers Association and Golden Baobab to organize a writers workshop in Accra - the first of many to come for Accord. We worked with writers and editors from Ghana and Togo and over the course of 3 days we focused on writing and editing practical work, reading and critiquing works by published authors and creating new work. The first 2 days were class based combining both practical work and lecture led sessions and the 3rd day was an opportunity for writers and
editors to share one-on-one sessions with Sarah Odedina to talk about specific issues. Some images below.

We hope this lockdown brings an opportunity for all our writer friends to read and write more. From the Accord team: we urge urging all of us to #StaySafe.
